Dance-a-thon

October 20, 2014 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Our annual dance-a-thon is only a couple weeks away.  All proceeds from the fundraiser go to purchasing resources for our school library.  We ask that students do not go door-to-door to raise funds but instead ask family and close friends only.  We appreciate everyone’s efforts in supporting our school library and we look forward to getting our groove on at the dance!!

Bringing toys from home

October 16, 2014 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

A reminder to the students and parents regarding toys that are brought to school (e.g. Pokemon cards, stuffed animals).  At times, these items have caused issues at recess time.  Fieldcrest does not take responsibility for any lost or misplaced toys that students bring to school.  We encourage parents to speak to your child about making wise choices about what they bring to school.

Congratulations to all students, staff, and parents who helped us reach and surpass our fundraising goal for our Terry Fox campaign.  Together, we raised over $3000 to give to the Terry Fox Foundation! Our celebration will be happening this week.  Great job, Falcons!

Have fun at Kandalore!

We would like to wish a great time to our grade 7 and 8 students who are travelling to Camp Kandalore this week to participate in team building and outdoor educational activities.  The students will be experiencing the camp life for three days and hopefully having some wonderful weather.  Students will be returning to Fieldcrest on Wednesday and will need a ride home at 3:30 with all their camping gear.  Have a great time!

The Terry Fox Run

The Terry Fox Run is quickly approaching!  Our run/walk day is Thursday September 25th, during the last block (2:00 – 3:15) of the day.  The pledge forms were sent home yesterday.  Please ask family and friends to sponsor you and help support Terry’s dream.  Our school goal is $3000…we can do it Falcons!

Library classes

September 10, 2014 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Our regular library classes have begun this week at Fieldcrest.  Please refer to your student’s agenda or classroom newsletters to remember when your child’s library day is.  Every class from kindergarten to grade 8 will be on the five day cycle when it comes to library classes so the day of the week will not always be the same for library.  Kindergarten students will receive a library bag with a handout detailing library day and library policies.  Please help your student to remember to return their library book or books on their specific day so that we do not have disappointed students.

We made it!

We hope that everyone enjoyed their first week back to school and that our junior kindergarten students had a very successful first two days of school.  The first week is done and hopefully everyone gets lots of rest this weekend to get back into routines. Please check our school blog often for upcoming events and to see what is going on at Fieldcrest.
