We have a new website!

November 20, 2014 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

This blog is no longer our public form of communication.  Our new site is where you can go to find out information about our school, school board, upcoming events, pay online, bus cancellations and much more. All staff and student links have been transferred to the library page of our new website which can be found under students.  All class blogs can be found on the classes page of our new website.  Many of the parent links are now on the home page of the new website.  Thank you for all the many visits and comments on our blog!

Author visit at Fieldcrest!

Today, Ms. Loftus’ Gr. 1/2 class met the author and illustrator, Laurie Keller, through a video conference.  Our students got to ask questions about the writing process and her books and she taught us how to draw some of her characters. We met other students from the United States and Canada as well.

Our annual dance-a-thon is only a couple weeks away.  All proceeds from the fundraiser go to purchasing resources for our school library.  We ask that students do not go door-to-door to raise funds but instead ask family and close friends only.  We appreciate everyone’s efforts in supporting our school library and we look forward to getting our groove on at the dance!!

Bringing toys from home

October 16, 2014 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

A reminder to the students and parents regarding toys that are brought to school (e.g. Pokemon cards, stuffed animals).  At times, these items have caused issues at recess time.  Fieldcrest does not take responsibility for any lost or misplaced toys that students bring to school.  We encourage parents to speak to your child about making wise choices about what they bring to school.

Have fun at Kandalore!

We would like to wish a great time to our grade 7 and 8 students who are travelling to Camp Kandalore this week to participate in team building and outdoor educational activities.  The students will be experiencing the camp life for three days and hopefully having some wonderful weather.  Students will be returning to Fieldcrest on Wednesday and will need a ride home at 3:30 with all their camping gear.  Have a great time!

Library classes

September 10, 2014 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Our regular library classes have begun this week at Fieldcrest.  Please refer to your student’s agenda or classroom newsletters to remember when your child’s library day is.  Every class from kindergarten to grade 8 will be on the five day cycle when it comes to library classes so the day of the week will not always be the same for library.  Kindergarten students will receive a library bag with a handout detailing library day and library policies.  Please help your student to remember to return their library book or books on their specific day so that we do not have disappointed students.
