Have a Great Summer!

On Friday we had our final assembly of the school year and were able to say goodbye to the staff leaving Fieldcrest, including Ms. Manuge, Ms. Snedden, Ms. Bowins, Mrs. McCormick, Ms. Tramontozzi, Mrs. Ripley, Mrs. Gleben, Ms. Teoh, Mrs. Kennedy and Mr. Case. We wish you all the best next year as you begin new teaching adventures! We also said a special goodbye to Mrs. Robinson who is retiring. We will miss you all!

We also had a chance to watch the slideshow that was shown at the graduation ceremony on Tuesday night. Congratulations to all of our graduating Grade 8 students!

We wish all Falcons a safe, fun and relaxing summer! See you on September 2nd!

Play Day!

The rain held off for Primary Play Day on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Students had a great time exploring over 40 different games/activities, including everything from throwing sponges at a target to relaxing with a freezie. Thank you very much to the Junior students who helped out as leaders at the centres!

Summer ESL Classes

The Bradford Learning Centre is offering summer ESL classes for adults to help improve listening and speaking skills through class discussions and presentations.

Classes will be offered here at the Bradford Public Library during the following sessions:

Session 1: July 8th – 31st, 2014 (Tuesdays – Thursdays, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm)

Session 2: August 5th –21st, 2014 (Tuesdays – Thursdays, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm)

Area Track and Field Meet

Congratulations to our track and field team who competed at the area event on Thursday, June 12th. Everybody did an amazing job, put forth their best effort and demonstrated true sportsmanship. You made your teachers very proud! Fieldcrest finished second overall for the day – a well deserved and hard-earned title!! Way to go Falcons!!

Pioneers for a Day!

Our Grade 3 students had a great time at the Simcoe County Museum yesterday. They spent the day at the museum’s Pioneer Village, where they dressed in pioneer clothing, watched a blacksmith in action, played pioneer games, churned butter and made candles. They even had a chance to experience what school was like in pioneer times…and had a very strict teacher!

Grade 7 Swim to Survive

Fieldcrest’s Grade 7 students will be participating in the Swim to Survive program at the Bradford Leisure Centre. They will have three one-hour swimming lessons on June 10th, 17th and 24th. What a great way to practice water safety before the summer!

Grade 6′s Visit Science Centre

Today our Grade 6 students went to The Ontario Science Centre to further their learning of Biodiversity, Electricity, Flight and Space. They were particularly excited about watching the IMAX movie about sharks and will share their experience on their class blog next week.

Grade 4′s Explore Medieval Times

Last week our Grade 4 students went on an exciting field trip to Medieval Times in Toronto. They had a chance to learn more about life in Medieval Europe to connect to their Social Studies unit. Check out Mrs. Bickley’s class blog for more pictures.


Congratulations Grade 3 and 6 Students!

Today was the final day of EQAO for our Grade 6 students. The Grade 3 students finished yesterday and we would just like to say how proud we are of our amazing students! The students worked so hard on their tests to demonstrate the great learning that goes on here at Fieldcrest. Way to go, Falcons!
